Dialogue Session to Strengthen the Link Between Vocational Training Outcomes and Industrial Labor Market Needs

2026-01-21 The Jordanian Investors Association and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) conducted a dialogue session as part of the Sustainable Livelihood Pathways Project, with joint support from the European Union. The session brought together a number of industrialists, representatives from the Ministry of Labour, the Vocational Training Corporation, and the Vocational Training College – one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s programs – in addition to a group of vocational program graduates and factory workers. The session aimed to discuss ways to bridge the gap between the outcomes of education and vocational training and the labor market needs within the industrial sector, and to formulate practical recommendations that contribute to enhancing the alignment of training programs with factory requirements and supporting productive and sustainable employment opportunities for Jordanian youth. During the session, participants exchanged views on the key challenges facing the industrial sector in attracting qualified labor and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the industrial sector and vocational education and training institutions. This would help ensure the design of training programs that are more closely aligned with practical realities and labor market needs.
